Six moms.
Free play hours.
One honest voice each.
Word of Mom is a small group of local mothers who talk about VirtoKids the way they'd talk to a friend — online and off — and get free drop-off hours in return.
We've never wanted to be the loudest kids' business in town.
We'd rather be the one your neighbor already told you about.
That's how this place fills up
one mom mentioning to another that there's somewhere downtown
she can leave her kid for a few hours,
screen-free, and actually relax about it.
Word of mom
is just us being honest about that,
and paying for it properly
instead of hoping it happens on its own.
What you get
10 free drop-off hours every month. Up to four hours at a time, ages 2.5–10. Use them for the appointment, the deadline, the grocery run, the ninety minutes of quiet. Early access. You'll hear about camp dates, new session times, and open enrollment before the list does. A say in what we build. We ask word of mom when we're weighing a new program, a schedule change, or a price.
What we ask
Each month:
One reel or feed post. Your words, your account, your life. Tag us and make us a collaborator.
Four stories. Spread across the month, not all in one afternoon. A drop-off, a pickup, a coffee you got to drink hot — whatever's true that day.
Two real recommendations. In a local Facebook group, a mom thread, a school chat, wherever the question comes up. The best version of this is responsive: someone asks what to do with the kids on Thursday, and you tell them.
Bring someone new. Once a month, bring a friend who's never been. We will give them an hour for free.
You don't need a big following.
You need to be the person your group chat texts
when they're trying to figure out
what to do with the kids on a Tuesday.
We're looking for moms who are already local,
already talking, and already the kind of person '
other parents believe.
If that's you — even if your account is small,
even if it's mostly private,
even if you've never done anything like this —
apply.
A few questions we expect
-
No, but you do need real experience with us before you start talking about us. If you've never come in, we'll get you in the door first — it's hard to tell the truth about a place you haven't been.
-
Not for this round, since you wouldn't be able to use the hours. Get on the list and we'll come find you.
-
Then don't post there. You can still answer if someone asks you directly. We're not asking you to break anyone's rules for us.
-
Tell us. Privately first, so we can fix it. We'd much rather hear it from you than read it later.
-
We may ask if you want to keep going or we may give the opportunity to someone else! No hard feelings either direction.
